The Barcelona Metro is a modern and efficient system comprised of 12 different lines. It is called the Metro de Barcelona in both Spanish and Catalan.
Visitors to Barcelona can board the metro at any of the Barcelona Airport terminals. A metro ticket from the airport to town costs €4.50. Regular in-town tickets cost only €1.35.
Multi-day passes that provided unlimited travel are available. Prices ranged from €14.50 for 2 days to €33.70 for 5 days.
The Barcelona Metro System has 180 stations and covers a total distance of 144 km. It is operated by two companies: Barcelona Metro (TMB) and Commuter Railway Services (FGC).
