Placa de Catalunya

Barcelona Spain Tourist Information and City Guide

Placa de Catalunya is one of Barcelona's grand old city squares. It separates Old Barcelona (Cuitat Vella) from the more modern city (Eixemple).

The plaza is an important transportation hub for buses and metros.  In addition, the airport shuttle and hop-on hop-off buses depart from the square.

Las Ramblas, Barcelona's most famous boulevard, runs from Placa de Catalunya (Catalonia Square) to the Columbus monument at the waterfront.
